Early on in my further training, I focussed specifically on my sub-speciality, foot and ankle surgery, in addition to my in-depth basic orthopaedic training. I was always particularly interested in understanding the complex biomechanical relationships in this functionally highly differentiated area. Because only on the basis of a clear understanding of the underlying problem can well-founded decisions be made - and thus the best possible treatment results achieved.
